The elephant, animal sacred to Buddha, under whose guise he says, he came down to earth, and 'the symbol of Thailand. Today this symbol is left only one used in the banners or the magnets that are sold to tourists. These animals, in addition to being decimated (there are 4000 units compared to 10,000 a few years ago), are still used for heavy work or to entertain tourists by offering to them the hiking trails on the backs of these animals, followed by shows seemingly "innocent".

In my last trip to Thailand I got to visit one of these training centers or field that every day is home to hundreds if not thousands of tourists from around the world. What catches the eye is the strange behavior that have many of the pieces of elephant, these in fact linked to a chain do nothing but repeat in a continuous movement and repetitive dall'eccesivo stress caused due to several factors, such as the too much work to which they are subjected, or because tied for several hours with chains that do not give animals the opportunity to move freely. Another sign, key evidence of the mistreatment of these animals, the holes are present on the head of several specimens, these are in fact caused by the "stakes" that are data supplied to the "trainers" who with firm strokes and violent strike the head of ' elephant to cause holes visible and terrible pain to animals. These deep wounds are kept secret by the same trainers that sitting on the head of the pachyderm covering his legs. While I took the photo attached to this post, some tamers noticing the camera, very often, the elephant walked away from my sight so I could not give a chance to take pictures. After becoming aware of everything I understand that all this is nothing but a system where money is the master of the lives of poor elephants that are chained and treated like slaves with the sole purpose of doing business.
